The names of six distinguished individuals were added to the Rock Island High School Distinguished Alumni/Faculty Hall of Fame on September 13, 2001 at a presentation held at Thoms Proestler Company. The following were selected from those nominated because of significant personal achievements and the contributions they made to their communities and the country. They are:

Mr. Seymour P. Golden, Class of 1935. After graduation, Seymour earned a B.A. in Accounting from Augustana College and an M.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois. Seymour provided outstanding leadership to many organizations in Rock Island. He was a managing partner of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co. with his office in Rock Island. Seymour was a Veteran of World War II and became the Post Commander of Post 483 Veterans in 1946. Sue Golden accepted the award for her deceased husband.

Mr. Robert E. Meeker, Ph.D., Class of 1948. Bob's Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry was from Northwestern University in 1955. His wife Dorothy was a graduate of the Class of 1947. Robert C. Brooks, Ph.D., Class of 1953. After graduating from Rocky, Bob received a B.A. degree from Valparaiso University, an M.S. degree from the University of Iowa, an Ed.S. from Western Illinois University, and a Ph.D. degree in Educational Administration from the University of Iowa. Bob served in many teaching and coaching positions, ending his career as an outstanding high school principal at West Des Moines. He served on many state and national education committees. He was one of five persons selected to represent education, in the U.S., a reception hosted by Vice President Bush in 1987.

William Wise, Class of 1963. Bill attended Vanderbilt University after graduating from Rocky. He then attended the University of Colorado Law School, after which he went to work for El Paso Energy. He became the company's top lawyer in 1983 as well as Senior Vice President. In 1990 he became CEO of the company. Worth Financial Magazine named Bill one of the top 50 CEO's in the nation. Robert Muskeyvalley, Class of 1970. After graduation, Robert attended Black Hawk College and National Lewis University in Wheaton where he earned a B.A. degree in Business Administration and Counseling. Fortunately, he selected to return to the area and serve as a counselor at Arrowhead Ranch where he helps young men put their lives back together. He is best described as a peacemaker. Our Distinguished Faculty honoree was Kenneth Greene. Mr. Greene taught health and physical education at Rocky, and over the years was active in coaching many sports. He is a member of Rocky's Hall of Fame as a result of coaching Rock Island High School to an Illinois State High School Championship.
