We are continuing to work with Mrs. Boeye on the Six Traits of Writing. We worked really hard on the trait organization. We practiced writing good leads, using correct sequencing, and appropriate endings. We worked with a partner to help improve our writing.
A Special Visit
A special visit. My Mom lives in Peoria. When we visit we have to leave at 10:00. We ride for an hour and a half to get to my Moms house. We ring the bell and my Mom comes to the door. We hug her and kiss her and then we eat lunch and play. I get to play with my brothers and sisters. It is hard to say good-bye. I know we will see her soon. By: Tawana
Surprise Puppy!
What a surprise! My family wanted to surprise me with a new puppy. I got my dog when I was in the 2nd grade. We got the dog from another family. I was in school when my Mom and Dad picked up the dog. I got home, and I was so surprised. My Dad had said we couldn≠t have a dog until I was older, and then there it was. I couldn≠t believe my eyes. I name him Bruno. We put him in the kitchen so he wouldn≠t get out. Bruno loves to go sledding with me. What a great best friend! By: Kyle
A Trip to Pennsylvania
Going to Pennsylvania. The excitement all started on the first of June, 2001. We talked about going to PA. And begin to plan our trip. Finally on the 26th of June, we started to pack our stuff, that we needed to take. We woke up at 7:00 in the morning and got in the van and started off to PA. We drove for 12 hours, at about 7:00 that night my Mom called on her cell phone to make a reservation for a hotel. We got an early start the next morning. At 5:00 PM, we finally arrived at my other Grand-ma≠s in PA. We saw many things in PA. It was fun spending time with my family and playing with my cousins. What a great trip! By: Jon
A Fantastic Party!
What a fantastic party! I went to a fantastic party at my cousin≠s house. I left my house at 2:00 to go to my cousins. I helped him put up the decorations. More and more people arrived. We started playing video games. We lit the candles on the cake and sang Happy Birthday. We had ice cream and cake. My cousin opened his presents. We all went outside to play. This birthday party was fantastic!

Playing Basketball
Playing basketball is so exciting. The excitement begins when I get dressed and go to the game. We begin practice when the coach tells us to shoot baskets for practice. The referee blows the whistle for the game to start. The coach picks who will play first. The players go to the table to check in. Everyone goes to their spots on the floor. The tallest players from each team goes to the circle for the jump ball. The game begins. I have a lot of fun playing basketball with my team.

Dinner at Pizza Hut
Dinner at Pizza Hut! I had a terrific pizza at Pizza Hut. My sister, my brother, my Mom and my baby sister all went to enjoy pizza. We had my favorite pepperoni and cheese. I played a game. I played on the baby toys with my baby sister. I finally got to play a cool game and I got a Chinese Sticker. Then we went home. Have you ever eaten pepperoni and sausage pizza at Pizza Hut?

Sledding with My Family

Have you ever gone sledding? Well one day my little brother and I went sledding at Longview park in the afternoon. When we went sledding, there were alot of kids and people there. After we had been there awhile, my brother asked a boy if we could see his orange sled and he said yes. Next, my cousin and his little sister came to the park too. His little sister was scared to ride down the hill by herself, so he said he would ride down the hill with her. Then all of a sudden they were riding down the hill they hit the stair railing. His sister hit her head on the pole, and he hit his chest on the pole. They were okay. We stayed there until my Grandma Bobbie came to get us.
The day I went to Minnesota with my family, I was so excited. The night before all the kids had to take a bath. We had to get up really early the next morning to pack the cars. We took our clothes, and food for on the bus. We left to go to the bowling alley, where we go on a charter bus. On the way we stopped a t a McDonald¢‰Áçs. It was very busy, but we were starving so we were willing to wait. We got back on the bus and continued on our trip. A few minutes later we were relaxing on the bus watching a movie and snacking on our treats. We stopped a t Mall of America, and did lots of shopping. We were really tired when we got to the hotel. After we rested for a while we went to the dance and music. The next day it was our last day. We went on a boat trip. We had a great time in Minnesota.

Visiting My Dad!
A special trip! It was my turn to visit my Dad. I rode my bike over to his house. My Dad had some special plans for us. My brother and sister went with me. We went to visit a town called Nauvoo. We saw a helicopter. We walked around the town. I played mud volleyball with my Dad. He bought me a racecar, and I got a brick that they made in Nauvoo. This trip was fun!

Washing a New Car
Do you know how to wash the car? Well, I'll tell you how. First you get the car wet all over. Second you take some soap and smear it all over the car. Third you take the hose and spray the car. After the car is washed, make sure you don't let your brother, or sister kick the car because you don't want to hear the alarm go off, because the doors are locked and you can't turn off the alarm. My brother kicked the tires anyway. My Mom ran out of the house and unlocked the car and turned it off, and she drove to work. Before she left, Mom said, "Thank you Pat!"

A Fantastic Party
What a fantastic party! I went to a party, it was at Chuckie Cheese's. This party was for my cousin Shanda. We had fun, playing with the ball game. We went in them, threw balls at each other, when we were done, we ate some pizza and played more games. Shanda opened her presents she received some neat clothes and toys. Her favorite was a Barbie. She also got shoes and toys. It was finally time to come home. Have you ever been to a neat birthday party like this one?

A Trip to Adventure Land
A trip to Adventure Land. My family and I got up at 10:00 in the morning. We went on the highway for 2 1/2 hours, but we got there at 12:00 on the dot. It was so much fun, that I want to live there. The park has food and lots of rides. My step-dad, step-brother, and I went on the biggest ride in the park. The name of the ride is Space Shot. It went straight up in air. It went very fast. There were bumper cars, water rides, and two kinds of log rides. There was a lot of food, we were stuffed. The trip made me feel great!

My Friend's Party
Awesome party! It was April 13th, my friend's birthday party. We went to Holiday Inn for the party. It was fun! We ate chips and dip. We played a game called chicken. We went to the hot tub, then the cold pool. It was really late when we went to sleep. We woke up and went swimming again in the morning. Later, I went home, I had lots of awesome fun with my friends!
