Accelerated Math in Our Room |
|
Students are place in various libraries according to their skill level. They progress at their own pace.
Students work on practice, tests or exercises. Help is given as needed. Small group instruction and mini-lessons are taught as needed.

Students record their answers on a scan-tron card. They use the Accelerated Math Scanner, which evaluates their test or practice.

Students receive a TOPS report, which gives immediate feedback. This gives the student the following information:
v Overall Accuracy
v Missed Problems and Correct Answers
v Score for each Objective
v Summary of Previous Work

After students receive a TOPS report, they conference with teachers to review errors and correct problems.

Students set goals and graph their progress in their Accelerated Math folders.

Celebrations are held for students who meet individual goals.

Students also take daily timed tests. They are only trying to improve their personal best.
