Our Perceptions of the Visit
Site Visit to Jane Addams
Please make some notes about what you see.
Make sure you turn your responses in to Carol before you leave for home. She will put together a power point presentation with pictures for our presentation on Monday night. If you had a digital camera, please turn in your disks to Carol. Each person who attended the site visit will get a copy of everything that was shared.<o:p></o:p>

What to look for:
How are quality processes integrated into the curriculum?
v Tool and processes are used throughout the curriculum
v Writing Goals and Expectations are posted in all classrooms
v Students have a clear understanding of these expectations and a knowledge of how to improve.
v Various tools throughout all grade levels are: Lotus, Fishbone Diagram, Consensagram, Flow Charts, Affinity, Force Field Analysis-all of these tools are used to promote continuous improvement with students.
Describe some examples of quality tools used as a part of the PDSA process:
v Enthusiasm Matrix
v PDSA visible in all classrooms
o Common PDSA through out the building for improving reading enthusiasm

What do student data folders look like? What do they include?
v Folders
v Accelerated reader goals and histograms

v Goals can only be set on data collected; this makes sure that goals are measurable.

v Need to slow down the implementation process and only do one PDSA School-wide

v Quality Student, Teacher, and School Activity
v Set a benchmark for data collection
v Goals can only be set for something in data folder, this makes sure the goals measurable.
v Set a deadline for goal to met (First quarter, in so many weeks)
v Mission Statements, School, Classroom, and Personal Mission, or goals

v Data folders-three ring binders instead of folders
v More goals set-yearly and daily

v Scope and Sequence for Quality Tools and Graphic Organizers
v Pads or Fast Feedback and Plus/Delta
v This process has developed over the last four years
v SIP Plan using Baldridge-PDSA
v Each staff meeting a tool was introduced. Staff members were given time to practice and come back next month and were given the opportunity to share.
v Koalaty Kid Club for grades 2-6th grade. Representatives are nominated by teachers. Students learn a tool or a section of PDSA and teach it to their classrooms.
