Technology Guides

Help sheets have been created to guide users through some of the common technology-related tasks completed by users in the Rock Island School District. Please e-mail your suggestions for additional help sheets to Mike Breidenstein. These guide sheets have been saved as pdf or Word documents.


1. Web Based Mail (Communigate) - How to access your e-mail and calendar through a web browser. This will allow you to check your mail or send new messages when you are away from your computer at work.

2. TroubleTrakker - How to use the Trouble Trakker service to report technology problems

3. Manila Quick Start Guide - A guide to create your own Manila homepage on the school district web site. 

4. Making The Grade Guide - This is the complete manual for the Making The Grade gradebook program.

5. Web Discovery - How to use web Discovery to enter attendance and grades online.

6. Discovery Online Gradebook - - The complete manual for the online gradebook program.

7. Discovery Documentation - Guidelines for using the Discovery system.

8. School Calendars - Each school and many district organizations have an online calendar. Learn how to submit events on calendars.

9. PowerPoint Cheat Sheet - This was prepared as a reference for the PowerPoint Workshops.

10. Renaissance Learning Manuals - Complete Manuals for STAR Reading, STAR Math, AR, and AM.

11. STAR/AR/AM web site - Links for new features in the programs, help pages, and directions for the auto-updates.

12. HelpDesk Cards  - Visual aids and tip sheets for a wide variety of programs (i.e. Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and many more)

13. MouseHints - Tip sheets for a variety of programs.
